EPISODE 1
“Maid! Maid! Where is everybody?”
The loud voice echoed through the huge Williams mansion.
Purity Williams sat comfortably on a long cream-colored sofa in the family living room. Her legs were crossed.
Her eyes were fixed on her phone as she scrolled through videos. She did not bother looking up.
“Maid!” she shouted again.
A young maid named Mary came running from the kitchen, breathing heavily.
“Yes, Miss Purity.”
Purity finally looked up.
“Why did it take you so long? Am I supposed to sit here thirsty all day?”
“I am sorry, Miss Purity. I was helping in the kitchen.”
Purity rolled her eyes.
“Then bring me orange juice now. And make sure it is cold this time.”
Mary quickly hurried away. A few minutes later, she returned carrying a glass of juice on a tray.
Purity took one sip. Her face immediately twisted with anger.
“What is this?”
Mary’s hands began shaking. “Miss Purity?”
“This is not cold enough!”
Mary lowered her head. “I am sorry.”
“You people never do anything right,” Purity snapped.
The maid quietly collected the tray and walked away.
Across the room, another servant watched the scene and sighed softly.
This was normal in the Williams mansion. Everyone knew Purity’s temper. Everyone feared her reactions.
At sixteen years old, Purity behaved as if she owned the world.
She had been born into a life of luxury. The mansion had more rooms than she could count.
There were gardeners, drivers, cooks, cleaners, security guards, nannies, and several maids.
Purity never lifted a finger.
She did not know how to sweep. She did not know how to wash clothes. She did not know how to make her own bed.
If she wanted water, someone brought it. If she wanted food, someone served it. If she dropped something, someone picked it up.
Life had always been that way. And Purity believed it always would be.
Upstairs, her room looked like something from a magazine.
Her clothes were neatly arranged by servants. Her shoes were lined up perfectly. Even her school bag had been packed by her nanny, Sarah.
Sarah knocked gently before entering. “Purity, it is almost time for school.”
Purity did not move. “I know.”
“You should start getting ready.”
“I said I know.”
Sarah forced a smile. Years of working in the mansion had taught her patience.
Still, even she struggled with Purity’s attitude.
As soon as Sarah left, Purity called out again. “Sarah!”
The nanny hurried back. “Yes?”
“Bring my blue shoes.”
“They are in your closet.”
Purity frowned. “So?”
Sarah knew what that meant. She walked to the closet, picked up the shoes, and placed them in front of Purity.
Only then did Purity smile. “Thank you.”
But the words did not sound grateful. They sounded like a queen speaking to a servant.
Downstairs, Mr. Matthew Williams sat quietly at the breakfast table. His wife, Joyce, sat beside him.
Both looked worried. Neither spoke for a moment.
Then Joyce sighed. “Matthew, we cannot continue like this.”
Matthew rubbed his forehead. “I know.”
“Her behavior is getting worse.” “She does not listen anymore.”
Joyce looked toward the staircase. “Yesterday she made Ruth cry.”
Matthew closed his eyes. “And last week another maid resigned.”
Silence filled the room.
Both parents loved their daughter deeply. But lately, that love was mixed with worry.
The girl they had spoiled for years was becoming someone they barely recognized.
A few minutes later, Purity finally came downstairs.
Her phone was in her hand. Her attention was completely on the screen.
Without looking at either parent, she dropped into her chair. “Where is breakfast?” she asked.
Joyce looked at her sadly. “Good morning, Purity.”
Purity continued scrolling. “Hmm.”
Matthew exchanged a glance with his wife. Neither said anything.
But deep inside, both felt the same fear.
Something was very wrong. And if they did not act soon, things might become much worse.
